Message From The Police Chief
Welcome to the New Boston Police Department's Website,
I am very honored to have been appointed the Police Chief for the Village of New Boston in 2017. I replaced our former Chief of Police Darrold Clark who had 47 years of service to our community, nineteen years as the Chief of Police. I wish Chief Clark well during his retirement because he definitely earned it for all of those years of service.
Being in Law Enforcement for the past thirty four years has taught me that every day is not the same and that you must work hard every day, be honest, have integrity, and be a good servant to the citizens I serve and protect everyday. My whole career has been in public service because I truly enjoy helping people if I can and bring them justice when they are victims of a crime.
As your Chief of Police, I will see that your Police Department is administrated in a professional way and have high standards of conduct of all Officers. In 2017, I started the process of having the Police Department's standard operation procedures and rules of conduct reviewed by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board with the State of Ohio and the Department has been certified as a Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Agency. This means for the citizens of New Boston that your Police Department has high professional operation procedures and rules of conduct in place that all Officers follow and ensures the community that the Police Department is here to serve and protect you in the best way we can. Our Officers wear body cameras to be transparent in how we do our jobs and how we conduct ourselves on the job. I have always told Officers under my command that we should treat someone the way we would want someone else to treat our parents or sons and daughters.
I look forward to serving New Boston as Police Chief and please feel free to come see me if I can be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Chief Steven Goins
