Arson Fire

On the night of March 17th, the New Boston Fire Department and Police Department responded to a reported house fire at 3652 Gallia Street. The Fire Department was able to put the fire out and no one was injured. There was extensive damage to the upstairs of the house. The resident of the house who was renting, purposely set the upstairs on fire and attempted to flee the scene. Capt. Deerfield from NBPD was able to apprehend the suspect before he was able to get away. The investigation is currently being conducted and a criminal case will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury for indictment on felony arson.
